Grandma's Home-made Chicken Noodle Soup

Recipe Ingredients for Home-made Chicken Noodle Soup

4 pound chicken
1 white onion
3 cups carrots
1 cup celery
1 tablespoon parsley
1 1/2 cups broth
16 oz pasta
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe Directions for Home-made Chicken Noodle Soup

  1. Soak whole chicken in salt water for several hours.

  2. fill a large pot (at least 2 gallon pot) mostly full of water.

  3. Cut up onion, carrots, celery, and parsely.

  4. Place whole chicken with skin still on in pot with onion, carrots, celery, and parsley. Also, put in 3 packets of chicken broth (Wyler's MBT Broth).

  5. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

  6. Bring to a roaring boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until chicken is tender.

  7. Break apart chicken.

  8. Boil 16ozs of noodles until tender.

  9. Serve soup and noodles together.
