High protein and delicious home made yogurt

Recipe Ingredients for Home-made 1% yogurt

4 cups organic 1% milk
1/3 cup nonfat dry milk
2 tbsp plain yogurt

Recipe Directions for Home-made 1% yogurt

  1. Put together a box with a towel in the bottom, a heating pad on top of that and two regular sized pasta sauce jars in it

  2. Turn the heating pad to "warm" to warm up the jars above room temperature

  3. Heat milk slowly to 185 degrees F

  4. Cool milk down to 110 degrees F and add nonfat dry milk, stir to dissolve

  5. Mix in yogurt (make sure you just opened the container so cultures are still active)

  6. Pour the mixture into the jars (1/2 and 1/2) and cover them

  7. Turn the heating pad to "low" and stick a thermometer in the bundle so you can read the temperature throughout fermenting

  8. Cover with a towel tightly and let sit for 5-6 hours until really thick (you can see some whey floating at the top)
