Serving size for this recipe is for pies with one crust/topless. For topped pies, double servings.

Recipe Ingredients for Home Baked Pie Crust

3 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1 cup Gold Medal Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup Butter
6 oz All-Vegetable Shortening
3 tsp Sugars, Granulated
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 large Egg, Whole
1 tbsp Vinegar, Cider
0.5 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Home Baked Pie Crust

  1. Sift flour, sugar, and salt together

  2. Cut in butter and shortening and/or lard

  3. When dough becomes crumbly, in a separate container, mix water, vinegar, and egg.

  4. Add to dough and mix until pliable

  5. Separate into five balls

  6. Roll into circle and press into pie dish

  7. Follow pie-baking directions, or, bake at 375 for 20-30 min until crust is browned for already-cooked filling or pudding pies.
