Recipe Ingredients for Holt's Favorite Beans and Rice

14 1/2 ounce great northern beans
14 1/2 ounce pinto beans
2 cups rice
2 cups water
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon hot sauce

Recipe Directions for Holt's Favorite Beans and Rice

  1. empty beans in saucepan and cook covered over medium heat until boiling stirring occasionally

  2. uncover and turn down to low heat and simmer stirring in salt and pepper

  3. empty rice into 2 quart microwave save dish and cook on high uncovered for 11 minutes

  4. put 1/2 cup rice in bowl and pour 2 tablespoons beans over rice

  5. mix in hot sauce to taste
