This recipie is actually made for 4, & calls for 4 filet mignon. I live alone, so I changed it.

Recipe Ingredients for Hoisin Beef with Asian Slaw

3 tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoon ginger, grated
2 tablesoon seasoned rice vinegar
1 teaspoon seasoned rice vinegar
2 filet mignon
1 tablespoon asian fish sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 napa cabbage, shredded
1 carrot, shredded
1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
2 scallions

Recipe Directions for Hoisin Beef with Asian Slaw

  1. Combine the hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and the 1 tsp vinegar in a zip-close plastic bag; add the filets. Squeeze out the air and seal the bag; turn to coat the filets. Refridgerate, turning the bag occasionally, at least 2 hours or overnight.

  2. Spray the broiler racke with nonstick spray and preheat the broiler.

  3. Meanwhile, to make the slaw, combine the 2 tablespoons vinegar , the fish sauce, and sugar in a small bowl. Combine the cabbage, carrot, bell pepper, and scallions in a large bowl. Add the fish sauce mixture; toss to coat.

  4. Remove the filets from the marinade; discard the marinade. Pat the filets dry with paper towels ad place on the broiler rac. Broil the filets 5 inches from the heat , approx 5 minutes. Serve at once with the slaw.
