Recipe Ingredients for High Protein Baked Penne

14 oz
1 lb lean ground beef
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 onion, chopped
28 oz diced tomatoes
1 tbsp olive oil
4 cups kale, chopped
18 oz spinach
8 oz tomato sauce
12 oz penne, whole wheat
2 oz parmesan cheese, grated
6 oz mozzarella, grated

Recipe Directions for High Protein Baked Penne

  1. Brown beef and Gimme Lean with onion and garlic.

  2. Stir in tomatoes and tomato sauce, heat to boiling and simmer until thickened.

  3. In a seperate saucepan, wilt spinach and kale in olive oil. Sprinkle crumbled parmesan over greens when cooked.

  4. Cook pasta to package directions and drain.

  5. Layer pasta and tomato mixture, top with 1/2 of parmesan cheese. Layer greens on top, add the rest of the parmesan and top with mozzarella. Bake at 350 covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes.
