I love baking. This is a great favorite that is lower in calories. Great for breakfast or as pre-fuel for sports!

Recipe Ingredients for Heather's Low Cal Oatmeal Jam Bars

1/2 cup unsalted butter
36 tsp. SPLENDA brown sugar blend
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups rolled oats
210 g Seedless Blackberry with Splenda Sugar Free Jam

Recipe Directions for Heather's Low Cal Oatmeal Jam Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 325. (Lower temp is needed for anything baked with SPLENDA. Place rack in center of oven. Grease square (9 x 9") or rectangle (9 x 7") baking pan with butter or cooking spray.

  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl and set aside. In large mixing bowl beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat until smooth. Add flour mixture and mix well. Stir in 1 1/4 cups of the rolled oats.

  3. Press 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the pan. Spread the jam over the dough base.

  4. Add the remaining oats to the remaining dough and crumble evenly on top of the rolled oats.

  5. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.

  6. Let cool before slicing. Better if cooled overnight.
