Recipe Ingredients for Hearty Vegetarian Chili

1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
1 medium raw Onion Yellow
1 tsp Garlic
340 grams Meal Starters Grillers Recipe Crumbles
1.5 tbsp Chili Powder
2 tsp Cumin
0.5 tsp Pepper, Red Or Cayenne
0.5 tsp Paprika
1.5 cup Organic Vegetable Broth
1.5 tbsp Soy Sauce
28 oz Beans, Pinto, Mature Seeds, Canned
28 oz Chili Beans
28 oz Tomatoes Diced Fire Roasted
2 leaves Spices Whole Bay Leaves
2 tsp Spices Oregano Leaves

Recipe Directions for Hearty Vegetarian Chili

  1. Heat oil in large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook 3 to 4 minutes. Add Morning Star soy crumbles and cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring to break up large pieces. Add spices and stir until spices are slightly toasted and fragrant.

  2. Stir in broth and soy sauce. Add beans and tomatoes and 1 cup water and mix well. Add bay leaves and oregano and stir to mix.

  3. Bring chili to a low boil and cook 10 to 15 minutes. Stirring about every 5 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer gently, stirring occasionally, 30 to 40 minutes. Discard bay leaves. Serve with cornbread and hot sauce, of desired. (Makes about 12 cups.)
