Heart Fried Rice Recipe

I love a good fried rice and stir fry. Having High cholesteral and trying to loose a few pounds has encouraged me to get a little creative with recipe's. There is no reason not to enjoy the foods we enjoy.

Recipe Ingredients for Heart Fried Rice

2 cups uncooked brown rice
1 1/2 cups Egg Beaters
2 Bell Peppers
1/2 cup chopped sweet onion
14 oz bean sprouts
8 oz water chestnuts sliced
1/8 cup lite soy sauce
1/4 cup minced garlic

Recipe Directions for Heart Fried Rice

  1. Cook rice as per package instructions when approximately 15 minutes from completion pre-heat large no stick skillet or wok to medium high heat.

  2. Stir fry peppers, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, and onions until desired doneness.

  3. Scramble egg beaters ( 6 eggs can be substited ) in a seperate skillet on medium high heat. ( Pre heat skillet for ease of scrambling. )

  4. Combine stir fry, rice, eggs, soy sauce and garlic in large skillet under low heat until hot.

  5. Stir and serve.
