You can add in whatever you like, any kind of nuts, dried fruits or even chocolate chips. These are a very low fat, low sugar cookie. Not too dangerous to have around the house! And good for kids, too!

Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Oatmeal Cookies

9 tbsp Ground Flax Seed
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tbsp water
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for Healthy Oatmeal Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. Mix together brown sugar, syrup, egg, flax seed, vanilla and water.

  3. Mix together dry ingredients and then stir in the oats. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix. Stir in raisins and walnuts (or whatever add-ins you want.)

  4. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto the cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Cool on wire rack or paper grocery bag.
