Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Jambalya

2 lbs. turkey sausage
2 lbs. chicken tenders
2 cups diced onion
1 tbs. minced garlic
1 1/2 tsp. of Thyme
1 1/2 tsp. of Basil
1/4 tsp. of Black pepper
1/4 tsp. of White pepper
1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
4 cups of low sodium Chicken broth
2 cup of brown rice

Recipe Directions for Healthy Jambalya

  1. Brown the chicken on a large heavy pot. Take it out and set a side.

  2. Next brown the sauage.

  3. Add the spices and rice and brown for 1 min.

  4. Shred the chicken and return to the pot with the sausage, rice and spices.

  5. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.

  6. Put the lid on the pot and cook for 30 minutes on medium-low heat.

  7. After 30 min. turn off the heat and let sit for 10 to 30 minutes more.
