Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Italian Herbs Bread

2 c white flour
2 c whole wheat flour
2 c soy flour
1 package yeast
1/4 c warm water
2 c milk
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp canola oil
2 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp Italian seasoning

Recipe Directions for Healthy Italian Herbs Bread

  1. soften yeast in water.

  2. in a pan heat milk sugar shortening and salt to 115*(F).

  3. place milk mixture in a bowl and mix in herbs and 2 c of flour

  4. beat well then add the yeast and water.

  5. mix in as much of the remaining flour as possible.

  6. place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead in as much

  7. of the remaining flour as possible, knead until smooth and elastic.

  8. shape the dough into a ball and place in an oiled bowl turning to

  10. cover dough and let rise for 1 1/4 hr.

  11. punch dough down and divide it in half shape the 2 parts

  13. let rest for 10 min meanwhile grease 2 8x4x2 baking pans.

  14. shape the balls into loaves and place in pans bake in a 375*

  15. (F) oven for 45 min or until loaves sound hollow when tapped.

  16. OPTIONAL: BRUSH LOAVES WITH BUTTER BEFORE BAKING
