Recipe Ingredients for healthy granola

1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup honey
2 tbls maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract
4 cups old fashioned oats
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 slivered almonds
1/2 raisins

Recipe Directions for healthy granola

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, stir oil, honey, syrup and extracts until the honey melts--

  2. approximately three minutes. In a large bowl, toss oats, bran, cinnamon, almonds and sesame seeds. Pour honey mixture over the oat mixture and stir to coat. Spread combined ingredients onto a baking pan in an even, sparse layer.

  3. Bake in a pr-heated, 300-degree oven for 50 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until golden brown and

  4. toasted. Place the pan on a wire rack to cool. Place the mixture in a large bowl and add raisins or dried fruit to taste in one-cup amounts.

  5. * Note: If stored in an air-tight container, granola stays fresh up to two weeks.
