Fried apples with splenda instead of sugar, and only half the butter.

Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Fried Apples

1/4 cup butter
4 apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 pear, peeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices
12 grams splenda
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 cup water

Recipe Directions for Healthy Fried Apples

  1. Heat butter in a large heavy pan or skillet over medium high heat. Add apples and cook until just tender, about 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon; toss and cook for 1 minute.

  2. Add lemon juice and water, stir, cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for 2 minutes to form glaze.

  3. Great served with Virginia ham or fresh pork sausage and hot biscuits.
