Makes 2 servings. Calories: 288. Healthy cheese steak - The recipe is at 288 calories at a baseline. you can still garnish with whatever you typically like on a cheese Steak. Personally, i like it as is but I've seen mayo, tomatoes, jalps, etc... just use a light mayo to keep it healthy.

Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Cheese Steak

2 servings wheat hot dog buns
4 oz top sirloin
1/4 cup chopped white onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 1/2 oz mozzarella

Recipe Directions for Healthy Cheese Steak

  1. thinly slice top sirloin

  2. thinly slice peppers & onions or use frozen chopped version (my personal choice)

  3. Cut mozzarella into small squares or shred

  4. Heat up non-stick skillet to med-high heat

  5. Coat with cooking spray

  6. Add steak and cook for 2 minutes until starting to brown

  7. add onion and peppers / cook for an additional 2 minutes stirring

  8. Add salt and pepper to taste (I usually add a couple dashes of hot sauce as well)

  9. Add mozzarella cheese and stir in until cheese melts all around the other ingredients making a consistent mixture.

  10. scoop on a toasted bun
