These tasty brownies are lower in calories and fat than other brownies.

Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Brownie Recipe

2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine, 70% vegetable oil spread, soybean and soybean (hydrogenated)
3 large egg whites

Recipe Directions for Healthy Brownie Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Grease 8x8 pan or use parchment paper to cover bottom of pan. (A 13x9 pan can be used, but brownies will be thinner.)

  3. Combine sugar, vegetable oil spread, egg whites and vanilla.

  4. In separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa.

  5. Mix dry mixture into egg white mixture using a hand or stand mixer until mixture is free of lumps.

  6. Spread in pan.

  7. Bake 22-24 minutes.

  8. Cool.

  9. Cut brownies into 16 pieces.
