Tasty blackberrie pie with NO sugar added, you can choose to either add it to the recipe or add it to your piece of pie sprinkled on top after it's cooked.

Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Blackberrie Pie

1 cup oats
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
49 grams almonds (ground to meal)
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp canola oil
1 tbsp water
890 grams blackberries
1/3 cup whole wheat flour

Recipe Directions for Healthy Blackberrie Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 218 C

  2. Last two ingredients are the berry filling.

  3. Mix oats, flour, ground almonds, sugar and salt together in small mixing bowl.

  4. In small bowl or measuring cup, whisk hot water and oil.

  5. Add oil and water mix to dry ingredients. Add extra water slowly until you get a mix that will hold together.

  6. Spray pie pan with cooking spray, press pie shell mix into pan. (I find moistening my fingers by putting a little water into the bowl previously holding the oil/water mix helps)

  7. Bake at 218 for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden brown.

  8. On stove, simmer down wild blackberries to jam-like look. This takes a while!

  9. Add 1/3 cup wheat flour. Stir.

  10. Pour into pie crust. Chill.

  11. Serve as is, with icing sugar on top, with cream or ice cream or with yoghurt. Tastes good no matter what!
