Banana Nut Bread using Total Whole Grain Cereal

Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Banana Nut Bread

1/2 cup brown sugar
3 egg whites
3 Bananas mashed
2/3 cups Vanilla Yogurt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup whole grain total cereal, slightly crushed
1 scoop protein powder
3/4 cup walnuts (optional)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Recipe Directions for Healthy Banana Nut Bread

  1. Move oven rack to low position so that sops of pans will be in center of oven

  2. Heat oven to 350*

  3. Grease bottoms only of 8x4 inch loaf pan or one 9x 5 loaf pan

  4. In large bowl mix sugar and egg whites until well blended.

  5. Add bananas, yogurt and vanilla until smooth

  6. Stir in whole wheat flower, baking soda, baking powder, salt, protein powder, walnuts and ground cinnamon until moist.

  7. Then add cereal

  8. Pour into pans

  9. Bake loaf about sixty minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes, loosen sides of loaf from pan and remove.

  10. Cool completely about an hour.
