Recipe Ingredients for Healthy Banana Bread

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1 cup mashed bananas
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup applesauce

Recipe Directions for Healthy Banana Bread

  1. Directions

  2. 1. -Preheat oven to 350F and grease bottom and partly up the sides of a loaf pan

  3. 2. -mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon in a medium bowl, make a well in center, set aside.

  4. 3. -in another bowl, mash bananas, then add egg, sugar, applesauce and lemon peel and mix well.

  5. 4. -add banana mixture to dry mixture. stir until moistened, batter should be lumpy, fold in nuts

  6. 5. -spoon batter into loaf pan and bake in oven for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

  7. 6. -cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes, remove from pan and cool on wire rack

  8. 7. -Makes 1 loaf (16 servings)
