Recipe Ingredients for Healthy banana bread

0.75 cup Low Fat Buttermilk
165 grams Sugars, Brown
0.25 cup Vegetable Oil, Canola
2 large Egg, Whole
2 medium banana Bananas
1.25 cup Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
124 grams All Purpose Flour
1.5 tsp Baking Powder
0.75 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
0.5 tsp Baking Soda
0.5 tsp Salt, Table
1/4 tsp Nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Healthy banana bread

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Coat a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

  2. Whisk buttermilk, brown sugar, oil and eggs in a large bowl. Stir in mashed bananas.

  3. Whisk whole-wheat pastry flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nutmeg in a medium bowl.

  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.

  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.

  6. Bake until the top is golden brown and a wooden skewer inserted in the center comes out clean, 50 to 60 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack. Let cool for about 2 hours before slicing.

  7. If baking muffins, set oven to 400 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.
