What is the healthiest cheese for sandwiches?
Asked by imcj on Nov 02, 2008 in Nutrition

I bought muenster cheese then saw that it has a bad grade.

Cheese gets a lower grade because it is high in saturated fat and sodium.  Cheese is, however, a great source of calcium and protein.  The healthiest cheeses are those that are lowest in saturated fat, such as fat-free or low-fat cheddar and American singles.  Cabot makes a good low-fat cheddar and, if you like spreadable cheese, Laughing Cow is good because it does not have an artificial taste or mouth-feel.  Another option is to cut back on other sources of saturated fat in your diet, such as meat and ice cream, to make room for a full-fat cheese, like muenster
