No dressing packets, no msg. Generous 2 oz serving has less than 60 cal. Seasonings are approximate - play with it to taste, then make your own Ranch Dressing mix for easy prep later. Great as a Ranch dip with buffalo chicken bites, celery sticks and cucumber slices.

Recipe Ingredients for Healthier Ranch Dressing, Buttermilk Ranch, Homemade Ranch

1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup non-fat cottage cheese
1/2 cup low-fat sour cream
2 green onions, roughly chopped
1 clove garlic
1 t garlic powder
1 t onion powder
1/4 t paprika
1/2 t dried parsley flakes
1/2 t kosher salt
1 freshly ground pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Healthier Ranch Dressing, Buttermilk Ranch, Homemade Ranch

  1. Combine all ingredients except green onions/scallions in blender container and process until smooth.

  2. taste for seasonings and correct if nec.

  3. add scallions and pulse to finely chop and leave bits of onion in dressing

  4. Creamy ranch keeps refrigerated in jar up to 2 weeks if used and shaken frequently.

  5. Tip: Combine equal parts garlic powder and onion powder in a jar or empty spice container with smaller amounts of salt, pepper, paprika and dried parsley. Use any time you want to make dressings or season meats. Your own "house seasoning"! Great to make your own seasoned breadcrumbs, too.
