I found this recipe in a magazine. Will adjust later w/ 1% milk & reduced fat cheese. Approved by my daughter who loves mac & cheese.

Recipe Ingredients for Healthier Mac & Cheese

14 1/2 oz Ronzoni Smart Taste penne regate pasta
3 tbsp all purpose flour
1/2 tsp onion salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
2 cups 2% milk
8 oz pureed carrots (2 jars baby food)
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Healthier Mac & Cheese

  1. Cook pasta according to package and drain

  2. Mix flour, salt, pepper in med saucepan. Whisk in milk until smooth

  3. Cook over med high heat stiring constantly until boils & thickens, about 5 minutes. remove from heat.

  4. Add carrots & cheese to sauce stir until melted. Stir sauce into drained pasta.
