Healthier Alfredo Sauce Recipe

While not healthy by any stretch, this is a bit lighter than the full-fat version.

Recipe Ingredients for Healthier Alfredo sauce

1/2 stick light butter
1 tsp minced garlic
8 oz. 2% evaporated milk
1/4 tsp cornstarch
3/4 cup grated fresh parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp white pepper
1 Salt to taste
1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
1 dash of nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Healthier Alfredo sauce

  1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Stir in garlic.

  3. Slowly add cornstarch into butter, stirring constantly with a

  4. whisk to prevent lumps.

  5. Add evaporated milk slowly and heat for one minute,

  6. stirring constantly, until sauce begins to thicken.

  7. Add parmesan cheese and continute to warm and stir until

  8. cheese melts.

  9. Add pepper, salt, nutmeg and sun-dried tomatoes .

  10. Warm for 3-4 more minutes and serve immediately.
