a yummy firm bread, the seeds and fruit are optional

Recipe Ingredients for Health bread

1 kg whole wheat flour
5 ml salt
5 ml sugar
25 g yeast
750 ml water
15 ml molasses
90 ml sunflower oil
100 g flaxseed
60 g dried apricots

Recipe Directions for Health bread

  1. sift together flour, salt, suger and yeast. remove any hard lumps.

  2. add the seeds and dried fruit (optional)

  3. disolve the molasses in the warm water

  4. make a well in the centre of your flour mix, add the oil and most of the water( you do not always need all of it)

  5. mix together into a dough ball

  6. turn out onto the counter and knead for 5-8 minutes

  7. place in a lightly floured or greased bowl, cover and leave to prove in a warm place for 45 min to an hour.

  8. knock down and divide into 2 loaf tins

  9. brush the top with milk and decorate with seeds as desired

  10. leave to double in size then bake for 35 min in a 200 degree C oven

  11. bread can be frozen once cooled
