Healthier version of bolognaise with the beef replaced with turkey and the wine removed. I've kept 15ml of oil for frying though, I think it much improves the taste.

Recipe Ingredients for Health Bolognaise

500 g ground turkey
400 g tinned chopped tomatoes
1 large onion
80 g celery
8 cloves of garlic
5 g dried oregano
100 g carrot
50 g tomato puree
1 tblsp olive oil
400 ml stock

Recipe Directions for Health Bolognaise

  1. Finely chop the onion, celery and carrot and fry with the oil over a medium to high heat until soft.

  2. Add the turkey and chopped garlic and fry for another 5 minutes.

  3. Add everything else, bring to the boil and simmer for 40 minutes.

  4. Sometimes I finish with as much fresh basil that I can get my hands on.
