Tropical spin on Dad's Waterbird cookies.

Recipe Ingredients for Hawaiian Waterbirds

1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
4 tbsp. unsalted butter
1/4 cup fat free milk
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/3 cup mashed banana
1/4 cup white chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Hawaiian Waterbirds

  1. In a heavy saucepan bring to a boil the sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk. Let boil for 1 minute.

  2. Add the peanut butter, oatmeal, coconut, banana, white chocolate chips, and vanilla. Stir all ingredients until mixed thoroughly. Remove from heat.

  3. Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls on to a sheet of waxed paper. Allow to cool fully and harden.
