A hiking tour guide in Kauai Hawaii made these for us and I got the recipe from him. They were so good and gave us energy to finish our hike

Recipe Ingredients for Hawaii energy bars

2 cups Quick oats
2 cup Rice Krispies cereal
1/2 cup Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup unsalted peanuts
1/2 cup dried apricots
1/2 cup prunes
1/2 cups dried peaches
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
8 tbsp margarine
10 1/2 ounce marshmallows
1/2 cup peanut butter

Recipe Directions for Hawaii energy bars

  1. Heat quick oats rice krispies and peanuts for 7-10 minutes in a frying pan

  2. add fruit sunflower seeds and sesame seeds and mix

  3. melt margarine marshmallows and pb and add to dry ingredients. Mix quickly using a wooden spoon and press in a lightly buttered cookie sheet

  4. cool. cut into bars and wrap individually in waxed paper. Makes approximately 24 bars.

  5. ENJOY!!!!
