Recipe Ingredients for Hashed Brussel Sprouts

1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 pound brussel sprouts
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 teaspoons earth balance
3 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe Directions for Hashed Brussel Sprouts

  1. Put lemon juice in a bowl

  2. Cut bottom off sprouts, halve them and thinly slice.

  3. Place sprouts in the bowl with lemon juice

  4. Toss

  5. Heat oil and butter on high heat in skillet.

  6. Once very hot (almost smoking) add sprouts, garlic, seeds and cook. Stir often, till sprouts are wilted and light. (about 3-4 minutes.

  7. Add vermouth or dry white wine, salt and pepper.

  8. Cook stirring for 1 more minute.

  9. Turn off heat, stir in lemon zest.
