Recipe Ingredients for Haricots Verts Lyonnaise - allrecipes.com - modified

1/2 pound fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 medium red onion, sliced in rings
1 pinch dried thyme
1 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp sea salt (to taste)
1 tsp ground black pepper (to taste)
1/2 tsp freshly ground nutmeg (to taste)
1/2 tablespoon finely minced fresh parsley

Recipe Directions for Haricots Verts Lyonnaise - allrecipes.com - modified

  1. Cook green beans by any method (microwave, boil, etc.)

  2. Meanwhile, in large pot over medium heat, lightly saute garlic then add onions and thyme. Cover the pot and braise the onion over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until soft and transparent. Increase the heat to medium-high, uncover the pot and slightly caramelize the onion.

  3. Stir the green beans into the pot. After 1 to 2 minutes, deglaze the pot with red wine vinegar. Season to taste with sea salt, pepper and nutmeg. Sprinkle with parsley.
