Recipe Ingredients for Handy Sausage Biscuits

12 oz Sausage
2.75 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
0.25 oz Yeast
2 tsp Sugars, Granulated
7 tbsp Butter
1 cup Buttermilk
1.5 Teaspoon Baking Powder
0.5 tsp Leavening Agents, Baking Soda
0.5 tsp Salt, Table

Recipe Directions for Handy Sausage Biscuits

  1. Cook the sausage

  2. Mix all dry ingredients (except yeast!) together, cut in butter.

  3. Drain sausage well, stir in.

  4. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water, let sit for five minutes until it bubbles.

  5. Stir in buttermilk and yeast mixture, mix.

  6. Knead 6-8 times on floured surface, then roll out to 1/2 inch.

  7. Cut into 2-in biscuits, bake at 450 on lightly greased sheet for 10-12 minutes until tops are light brown.
