Mom's Hamentaschen dough recipe. The best!

Recipe Ingredients for Hamentaschen (dough only)

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1/8 cup low fat buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Hamentaschen (dough only)

  1. Cream sugar and butter

  2. Add wet ingredients, and mix

  3. In another bowl, combine dry ingredients.

  4. Combine all.

  5. Chill dough for a minimum of 1 hr.

  6. Sprinkle table with confectioner's sugar.

  7. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick.

  8. Cut circles (2.5 inches in diameter)

  9. Top with filling, and shape into a triangle.

  10. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 16 minutes at 350.
