Recipe Ingredients for Hamburger Stroganoff

1 pound lean ground beef, 85% or more
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons flour
6 ounces mushrooms, sliced and sauteed (or 4 oz. can of mushroom stems and pieces)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
10 3/4 oz. condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup light sour cream
4 ounces uncooked whole wheat noodles

Recipe Directions for Hamburger Stroganoff

  1. Cook hamburger and onion in butter over medium heat in 10 inch skillet until hamburger is light brown.

  2. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic, flour, and mushrooms. Cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in soup; heat to boiling, stirring constantly and then reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes.

  4. Stir in sour cream and heat through. Serve over hot noodles and, if desired, sprinke with snipped parsley.
