If you like it drier, omit the water.

Recipe Ingredients for Hamburger & Rice Casserole

1 1/2 lb. hamburger
2 cups Minute Rice
2 cup water
1/2 Acorn squash, sliced
6 oz. mushroom caps, sliced
2 medium onions, sliced
1 large green pepper, diced
44 oz. Pasta sauce

Recipe Directions for Hamburger & Rice Casserole

  1. Brown hamburger until almost done.

  2. Saute green peppers until slightly soft.

  3. Add onions and finish sauting until all are soft.

  4. Line squash in bottom of casserole. Sprinkle with black pepper. Dab on a bit of sauce.

  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of the rice all over.

  6. Layer the mushrooms all over.

  7. Layer the hamburger all over.

  8. Spinkle the other cup of rice all over.

  9. Layer almost all the rest of the sauce over.

  10. Layer the green peppers and onions.

  11. Add water to jar of sauce; shake to get all the hard to reach bits. Pour over the top.

  12. Cover and bake at 350 approximately 30 minutes, until rice is done.
