Great way to use leftover baked ham.

Recipe Ingredients for Ham + Split Pea Soup

500 g dried split peas
2 cups chicken broth
500 g lean ham, chopped
1 cup carrots
1 cup celery
4 cloves garlic
2 tsp thyme
1 tsp pepper
4 cups water

Recipe Directions for Ham + Split Pea Soup

  1. Saute garlic, carrots + celery in large pot, in a little chicken broth, til veggies are soft but not browned.

  2. Add remaining ingredients to pot, bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer 2-3 hours til peas dissolve and thicken soup.
