25 g Stork SB
1 onion, large
225 g mushrooms, button
25 g flour, plain
150 Milk
150 g Cream, Single, Dairy Council Values
150 g peas, frozen
350 g Gammon
212 g Puff Pastry

Recipe Directions for Ham & Mushroom Pie - SD Pork Card 25

  1. Melt butter in saucepan, add chopped onion and sauté for five minutes until soft. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  2. Stir in flour, then gradually add milk and cream. Slowly bring to the boil, stirring continuously, until thickened. Season and add peas and diced gammon. Transfer to pie dish, cover, and leave to cool.

  3. Preheat oven to 220C/425F/Gas Mark 7 (or 200C/390F if a fan oven). Roll out pastry to 5mm thick and cover pie. Decorate with trimmings.

  4. Brush pie with beaten egg/milk/mayonnaise. Bake for 16-20 minutes, or until golden.
