Polish dish of fried cabbage and noodles.

Recipe Ingredients for Haluski

2 large Egg, Whole
1 cup Gold Medal Whole Wheat Flour
0.5 tsp Baking Powder
0.5 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 head, small (about 4-1/2" dia) Cabbage
1 tbsp Olive Oil

Recipe Directions for Haluski

  1. For noodles, mix dry ingredients in a mixing bowl, preferably one with a handle, with water to make a think paste.

  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil.

  3. Test dough by dropping a half a teaspoon into boiling water. If dough breaks apart, add more flour and test again. If dough puffs and floats to the surface, it's good.

  4. Drop dough into water and cook until they come to the surface and are tender.

  5. Drain and place noodles into a clean bowl.

  6. Slice the cabbage into 1" strips.

  7. Heat a frying pan with oil.

  8. Add cabbage and noodles and cook until noodles are golden brown and cabbage is tender. Serve hot.
