Great chili - serve with black bean avocado salsa, crushed tortilla chips, chopped green onion, shredded cheese

Recipe Ingredients for Half-time chili

2 tbsp olive oil
1 c. onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 lbs ground beef, lean
5 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp hot sauce
28 ounce crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 c beef broth
1/2 c BBQ sauce
1/2 c carrots, chopped
1 c green pepper, chopped
3 tbsp cider vinegar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
6 ounce tomato paste
16 ounce baked beans
16 ounce kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Recipe Directions for Half-time chili

  1. Add oinions, garlic, carrots & green pepper to oil. Saute 8 min.

  2. Add ground beef and all spices. stir 2 min.

  3. Mix in crushed tomatoes, broth, BBQ sauce, tomato paste

  4. Stir in beans.

  5. Simmer for about 1 1/2 hours.
