Recipe Ingredients for Gyoza

2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup water or more
1 pound ground pork
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup mushrooms
1/2 ounce sake
1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 cup green onions
1 pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Gyoza

  1. About 6 ounces per serving.

  3. For the filling, mix ground pork, sake, sesame oil, soy sauce, green onions (sliced on the bias), shredded cabbage, mushrooms, and pepper.

  4. Place a spoonful of gyoza filling in a gyoza wrapper and put water along the edge of the wrapper (to seal).

  5. Make a semicircle, gathering the front side of the wrapper and sealing the top.

  6. Put gyoza in the pan and fry on high heat until the bottoms become brown. Turn down the heat to low.

  7. Add 1/4 cup water in the pan. Cover the pan and steam the gyoza on low heat until the water is gone.

  8. Serve gyoza with dipping sauce on the side.
