Recipe Ingredients for Guinness Stew

1 1/2 lb stew meat
4 large carrots
3 large potatoes
1 cup corn
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon flour
15 oz. beef broth
1 pint Guinness beer
1 tablespoon Worcestershire
1 teaspoon corn starch

Recipe Directions for Guinness Stew

  1. cut stew meat into bite size pieces and dredge in flower

  2. heat olive oil in soup pan and brown meat

  3. cut carrots, corn and potatoes and add to meat

  4. add beef broth, 1 can of Guinness and Worcestershire sauce

  5. simmer for 3 hours

  6. if needed, thicken with cornstarch and water.

  7. For shepherds pie, thicken soup and put in a casserole, top with mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese
