Healthy & tastey alternative to ground beef spaghetti sauce!

Recipe Ingredients for Ground Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
13 1/4 ounces whole wheat pasta
28 ounce of crushed tomatoes
6 ounce of tomato paste
1 small yellow onion
8 ounce of sliced mushrooms
12 baby carrots, chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons basil
2 tablespoons oregano
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon pepper

Recipe Directions for Ground Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Saute mushrooms, onions, & carrots in olive oil. Once the vegitables are soft, add garlic and finish saute for another minute.

  2. Add large can of crushed tomatoes, small tomato paste, and seasonings.

  3. In separate skillet, brown ground turkey. Add to sauce.

  4. Leave sauce on low to meld flavors. Add more seasoning as desired.

  5. Boil pasta approximately 10 minutes, drain, add sauce and serve.
