Recipe Ingredients for Grilled Santa Fe Lean Turkey Burgers

1 pound ground white turkey (98%)
1/2 cup (2 oz.) Low fat Cheese, shredded Mexican style
1 oz Baked Tortilla Chips, crushed
1/2 cup salsa
1/4 thinly sliced green onions
1 teaspoon ground cumin or chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 Whole wheat hamburger buns
4 lettuce leaves (optional)
4 tomato slices (optional)

Recipe Directions for Grilled Santa Fe Lean Turkey Burgers

  1. In medium bowl, combine ground turkey, 1/2 cup cheese, 1/2 cup salsa, baked tortilla chips, green onions, cumin and garlic powder; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into 4 patties, 1/2-inch thick.

  2. Grill or broil patties on oiled rack 5 to 6 inches from heat 5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F. Grill or lightly toast hamburger buns in broiler.

  3. Place burgers on buns. Serve with lettuce and tomato.
