Recipe Ingredients for Grilled Oriental Tofu

1 tsp. garlic,finely minced
1 tbsp. fresh ginger root, minced
2 tbsp. sesame oil
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. red chili paste (sambal oelek)
1 block firm tofu

Recipe Directions for Grilled Oriental Tofu

  1. Drain tofu and pat dry with paper towel.

  2. Cut into slices about 1/2" thick and cover with marinade.

  3. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours, or preferably longer, to allow the marinade to penetrate the tofu.

  4. When ready to serve, remove from marinade and pat dry.

  5. Brush lightly with vegetable oil.

  6. Grill over medium heat, basting now and again with marinade, 5-7 minutes per side.
