1/3 cup olive oil
1 3/10 servings red wine vinegar

  1. Skewers - if wooden or bamboo, soak in water following package instructions.

  2. We use the 16 oz bag of medium, shell-on, raw shrimp, from Aldi.

  3. In large bowl, stir together garlic, olive oil, tomato sauce, and red wine vinegar. Add basil (dried = 2 tsp), salt, and cayenne pepper. Add shrimp and gently stir to evenly coat. Cover and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes, stirring once or twice.

  4. Preheat grill to medium heat. Thread shrimp onto skewers, piercing once near the tail and once near the head. Discard marinade.

  5. Grill to 2-3 minutes per side or until opaque.
