Grilled pork chops are basted with a sauce made with apple juice, brown sugar, and ginger. May use pinapple or apricot nectar instead of apple juice. See note for oven method.

Recipe Ingredients for Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
3 tablespoons apricot nectar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 salt and pepper to taste
3/4 teaspoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons water
2 boneless pork chop

Recipe Directions for Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.

  2. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, apple juice, oil, soy sauce, ginger, salt , and pepper. Bring to boil. Combine water and cornstarch in small bowl, and whisk into brown sugar mixture. Stir until thick.

  3. Brush grate lightly with oil before placing pork chops on the grill. Cook over hot coals for 10 to 12 minutes, turning once. Brush with sauce just before removing chops from grill. Serve with remaining sauce.

  4. OVEN METHOD:

  5. Preheat the oven to 350; spray a pan with Pam; throw in some boneless pork chops; top with the brown sugar, butter and soy sauce and bake for about 20 minutes.
