grenki: Russian traditional breakfast

Recipe Ingredients for grenki

200 grams wheat bread
1 cup 2% milk
1 egg
1 T brown sugar
1 t salt
10 grams butter

Recipe Directions for grenki

  1. Mix milk, egg, sugar and salt in a bowl.

  2. Slice the bread in medium-thick slices, dip into the mixture, let soak for 1-2 min.

  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet to medium heat.

  4. Brown grenki in butter.
