Val's Green Chili without sausage.

Recipe Ingredients for Green Chili - Without Sausage

18 oz jalapeno peppers
2 large onions
2 pounds lean ground beef
4 stalks celery, chopped
18 oz green chili peppers
48 oz Swanson Chicken Broth
77 oz Great Northern Beans

Recipe Directions for Green Chili - Without Sausage

  1. Chop the onions and celery.

  2. Pre-cook the hamburger and sausage and drain off the fat.

  3. Seasonings: You can add a sprinkle of any or all of the following seasonings to suit your taste and there are no additional calories or add your own seasoning to taste:

  4. Cavender's Greek Seasoning

  5. Garlic - 2 toes

  6. Black Pepper

  7. Basil

  8. Worcestershire Sauce

  9. Paprika

  10. Chili Powder

  11. Parsley

  12. Stir ingredients into a large sauce pan.

  13. Bring to a boil.

  14. Turn the heat down and simmer for 1 or 2 hours.

  15. Serve a 1 cup serving in a bowl with a Flour or Wheat Tortilla on the side. You can find high fiber Wheat Tortillas that count 0 or 1 point.

  16. The Green Chili can be frozen and lasts a long time. It is a good dish to heat up for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. We have also eaten the Green Chili with scrambled eggs for breakfast.
