Sauce for chicken breasts, marinated in olive oil, lime juice, oregano, and black pepper

Recipe Ingredients for Green Chili Sauce

10 tomatillos, husks removed
1/2 medium onion, quartered
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 hot green peppers, jalapeno or serrano
2 tbsps cilantro
1/4 cup water
2 tbsps lime juice

Recipe Directions for Green Chili Sauce

  1. Put water, tomatillos, and onion into a saucepan.

  2. Bring to a gentle boil and cook uncovered for ten minutes or until the tomatillos are tender.

  3. Placed the cooked onion, tomatillos and any remaining water in a food processor.

  4. Add the garlic, peppers, cilantro, and lime juice.

  5. Blend until ingredients are smooth.

  6. Place sauce in a bowl and refrigerate.
