A mixture of seasoned fresh green beans and walnuts. Perfect for a side dish.

Recipe Ingredients for Green Beans with walnuts

1/2 lb green beans
2 T orange juice
1 T Mustard
1 t brown sugar
1 T butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1 salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Green Beans with walnuts

  1. Boil water, cook beans about 7 minutes (or until cooked to taste), drain, pat dry, set aside.

  2. In small bowl, whisk together juice, brown sugar, mustard - set aside.

  3. In skillet, melt butter, add oinion and walnuts, cooking till onion browns, stirring often. Add beans on one layer on top - season with thyme and pepper. Pour juice mixture over all. Reduce heat to low

  4. Stir thoroughly 1-2 min till heated through.

  5. Serve.
