This is a good winter side dish, make it using caned veggies and it is sooooo good. I add spices to flavor, usuall a little salt and fresh pepper and italian seasoning. It does not need very much salt though because of the bacon.

Recipe Ingredients for Green Beans and tomatoes

15 oz green beans
15 oz diced tomatoes
1 oz bacon

Recipe Directions for Green Beans and tomatoes

  1. cook bacon

  2. add beans (no liquid) and tomatos with liquid

  3. simmer till the rest of dinner is ready. (anywhere from just heated through to 45 minues.) The longer this cooks the better it tastes.

  4. add seasonings to taste about halfway through
